Every minute you got to suppress that tear from falling
Because you don’t want to explain why you are crying
Bite your lip a little bit harder just to keep your pain in your mouth
Risk sleeping with a broken wounded heart because you don’t want him/her to leave and being left alone
S/he cheats and because you think he is your trophy spouse that will take you to the land of happily ever after
And you’ll keep hurting whenever s/he is out there because your instincts tells you what s/he is doing
And one more time, over and over again, you force yourself to be happy while s/he is screwing at the expense of your own respect.
Guess what
Before you met him/her you had your life
Your ambitions and the person a true friend could look at and know when you are pretending
Before s/he came along you were continuing with your life
Don’t settle down for less just because you don’t want to feel alone
Don’t settle down for less because you want to be in a relationship like your mates
Don’t fake your strength because you want to be seen like you have it all
Fight to give freedom to the person you were before someone else became part of your story
Don’t hold on simply because you feel that if s/he leaves you won’t find a better person
